not only catholic...but a home owner too!

so we did it! we have a house! it was the one i was speakin of in my last post! we are all moved and settling in-- we absolutley love it and truly couldnt be happier!! it feels SO nice to have our own space, a real home of our own!

this past weekend was Easter-- yup, thats right, im officially catholic! :) Easter vigil was long, but awesome! The Fideros,Soignets,Rickels,Browns,and Bakers were all here! we had an awesome weekend full of family! Friday we all went to mass together, and Saturday i got up and went to shoot claire's pregnancy pictures with her,nick,and her parents--my awesome photographer cousin Christina did them and they turned out so awesome! Then claire and i went to lunch and a peddicure with her dad! (now THAT was a girls day ill never forget!)-- little did she know i was distracting her from the suprise baby shower we had planned with all the girls, at The Chocolate Pink Cafe in ATL! the others told her to keep ME busy cause they had stuff planned for me, we threw her off pretty well--she was suprised! then we all had dinner and got ready for Easter Vigil!

Aunt Mary gave me a BEAUTIFUL rosary she had made for me out of my wedding flowers, so so special and no doubt something i will keep forever! MIL gave me a big,white, beautiful Family Record Bible and is having my name put on it, Aunt becky and Aunt kelly got us a Mary statue for our garden, Brittany gave me a rosary and one for my car mirror,Lilliana gave me a junebug charm for my brighton bracelet :) , my mom gave me a pretty hankie with my initials and the date embroidered in it, and christina gave me a card! (joey claims he gave me a house for easter/my first communion haha!)im so lucky to have such supportive friends and family :)

the weekend was busy but too short for me, its always so nice seeing everyone altogether, and i cant wait for the next time whenever that is!

the house, and Easter are the two major things thats happened since the last time i posted. since then its just been packing,moving,unpacking and just trying to settle in! things are starting to slow down which is SO nice!

well hello there blog...

wow, so its been a minute since ive updated--my apologies! to say life has been hectic will make it sound like im a CD on repeat!
alot has happened since January-i cant believe thats the last time i posted!
where do i start!?

well of course: our church wedding on february 5th!


it turned out awesome :) a ton of people came,and we had a really great time! im so happy we did it! it already feels like forever ago!
OH! but before that! (im getting ahead of myself!)
OWEN WAS BORN! AND, becca and zach asked me to be his Godmother :) !!!


and speaking of babies-- Claire & Nick's lil junebug will be here in June! Lilliana Jessica Baker, AND...the asked joey and i to be the Godparents! woo! what a blessing! i cannot wait to meet her!

new with joey and i: we both got new jobs! sadly we both had to leave All American Roofing and goto something pulling in more income. He got a job at Tires Plus in Loganville and is loving it so far, brittanys husband Zach works there-- even cooler? i got a job at RCD-Atlanta..with brittany! weird how things work out huh? im their new receptionist and have been there for 3 weeks- im absolutley loving it so far!

other than that its normal (BUSY!) life for us! we're starting to try and figure out our future plans, where we want to be permanently-- its time for us to move on from this house, though it has been such a blessing having it dont get me wrong! we've been here goin on 8 months now and we're ready to find ourselves our own home. we shall see where we end up and whats happens! im kinda leaning towards a house in loganville-- we found one we love, and its SUPER close to joeys work. we love the area, theres a neighborhood in particular we LOVE, and i could carpool to work with brittany!
high hopes for the future,and excited to see where we end up!

Easter is just around the corner and im super stoked, ill finally be coming into the Catholic church! a ton of joeys family is coming into town for it, and a few of my friends are even coming! i CANT wait, been working for this since September!

youd think id have a longer post since it has been FORever, but thats really it: babies,wedding,new jobs,and future!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year...wedding in 30 days?!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2010! I havent blogged in forever! The holidays are a distraction for me, my apologies--especially this year since Joey was home :)

Christmas was great! Busy, but wonderful :) Christmas Eve we went to dinner with my moms side of the family and then back to her house for gifts. Joey and I decided to spend the night at my Moms that night--and it was so fun! My mom even got us all matching PJs! first year Ive ever done it and it was awesome! the next morning we woke up and opened gifts and santa gifts with her. my mom spoiled us as always! from there we went to Joeys parents for breakfast, then off to our house to shower, get ready, see the pups, and then head BACK to his parents for lunch with everyone. Peyton got tons of cool stuff, its always fun watching him open gifts :) we hung out over there for a while and then joey and i went to my dad's (next door!) to do christmas with him and his new fiance' Donna! so like I said, SUPER busy Christmas but a ton of fun! On Dec 22nd we had our work party for All American, and it turned out SO well! We met up at the boss man's condos for appetizers and some drinks, then walked down to Villa Christina for dinner,drinks,gift exchange,ect. I was happy with how it turned out since it was kinda my baby ;) everyone looked nice all dressed up and it was awesome to meet everyones SOs! Afterward my boss paid for us to get a hotel room, so it was a nice lil night out in ATL for Joey and I!






2010 is here!!!

For the new year we went with Lala and Alex to his parents house and hungout with his parents,sisters,Valdes,Lalas brother mom and aunt! we had a nice dinner, hungout and played Wii! THEN around 1130pm we turned off all the lights, lit candles, and brought the new year in with prayers, and a rosary. coolest thing ever. I prayed for my husband,for my marriage, for me to be the best wife I can be, thanking God for bringing Joey home to me safely, and for the best/worst year of my life! it was very emotional! I was wondering why they brought kleenex but I soon found out. it was moving to hear everyones different prayer, and I NEVER pray outloud so that was new for me! it was such a great way to bring in the New Year and Im so glad we did it. Afterward we poured the drinks and celebrated!!




Now things are finally winding down.... NOT! The wedding is in a month- JEESH! a month from today- and I feel like I still have a million things todo. the biggest thing = LOSING WEIGHT to make sure I fit into my dress! ah! Dieting like crazy, doing wii fit, drinking nothing but water, and stressing ha--hopefully that combo will help me drop some pounds. I want todo the wedding and its VERY important to us--Im just ready for it to GET here so I can enjoy hanging out with friends and family :)

Also, a new venture I've taken on! Becoming a BeautiControl Consultant :) Im still in training, I have a rally this saturday and more training on the 23rd so after that Ill be pushing it more. So be lookin out for that! Soon Ill have a link to my site on here, and updates/sale info for everyone :) I really love the product and really hope I do well selling it. I think itll be alot of fun, good way to meet new people, extra money wont hurt, and i LOVE the product! so be lookin for updates on that :) !

Thats really all thats goin on right now. Holidays were crazy but awesome, work is going great, new years was AWESOME, focusing on God through everything. (Claire got us an awesome devotional, we've been doing it every night and love it--Ill have to post it soon!)

I hope everyone's holidays were awesome! Hopefully I wont be so neglectful with blogging from now on but if I am just remember...WEDDING IN A MONTH. AH! pray for me haha!

Tis the Season!

happy belated thanksgiving to everyone! i hope it was a good one :) this is the first one joeys been home for, for a while! so it was really nice!
We started off the morning making deviled eggs, it was both our first time so it was pretty funny--then we went to my granny and pawpaws with my mom's side of the family for lunch. we went home for a bit to spend some time with the pups and then went to joeys parents for dinner, it was scrum as always! i tried not to eat TOO much...gotta make sure i can fit into my wedding dress in February!

Sunday we went and got a bunch of christmas stuff!! we didnt really have a whole lot since its our first married christmas, my mom DID give us our stockings and tree skirt at my first wedding shower- love them!

i went and got the puppies their stockings at walmart, Potter of course has the Braves one, and I got Delilah the UGA one--when i got home added a girly touch for our baby girl but puttin some 'pearls' on it! ;)


and i LOVE our tree skirt!! my mom even had 'the rickels' put on it! :)

decorating the tree was a ton of fun! we just got lights and different colored bulbs, but this weekend my mom is gonna give me a bunch of family ornaments so im excited :)


we also put some lights around the back deck, and a wreath on the front door!





joey found a Braves santa hat while we were shopping for christmas stuff...so of course he HAD to get it! my husband IS the ultimate braves fan!


so so much fun! im hoping after this christmas, when all the decor goes on sale i can get more for next year. i absolutley LOVE christmas! the past couple years ive been a bit of a scrooge...either joey wasnt here or he was about to leave. but he's home! and not goin anywhere!! so im back in my usual christmas spirit! ive already changed my ringtone (you know i still bust out the old NSYNC Christmas CD...its a classic, and totally made 'The Christmas Song'--sung by JT of course-- my ringtone!) and every night i look and see whats playing on ABCs 25 days of christmas! i just absolutley love this time of year!
We also have our advent wreath out and are doing our prayers every night :)

Sunday we're going to my moms to decorate her house/tree and eat some pizza, which will be a ton of fun :) im excited! AND i already ordered and mailed out our christmas cards...and todays what? Dec 2? yup... told you i love christmas!

We still have to get started on Christmas shopping, and our company party is coming up too! I got to plan it which was a TON of fun! we're having it in one of the ballrooms at Villa Christina! so excited!

Joey sold his car last night, sad times! he was bummed out the rest of the night! he loves his new truck but...that integra was his first love!! luckily he sold it to someone we know so he'll still be able to see 'her' lol.

I also started trying to learn to crochet...keyword TRY! lol, i really like it...im just frustrated bc i havent MADE anything yet! I can do the chain stitch and the single crochet..and kinda the double crochet. i THOUGHT id be able to make a scarf..or hat..and started trying and ended up making this little baby hat...more like barbie hat lol.


i did this thanksgiving night, and havent touched it since-i was gettin too frustrated! but i think when i get home tonight ill pick it back up again and try :) i got 2 books and have watched a few videos on youtube so im hoping the more i familiarize myself with it the better/quicker ill learn!

other than thanksgiving and all the fun upcoming christmas stuff its life as usual for us! just work, church, RCIA,...thats about it!

wedding showers and cars

things have been busy! (i swear i start every blog that way but its SO true ha)

Yesterday was my very first Wedding Shower! my awesome SIL Becca threw it for me and it was more than I ever imagined. everything looked awesome, and i felt so special. ive said it a million times but i feel so blessed to have family and friends who want to do these things for me even though im already married, its cool i didnt have to miss out on all the fun stuff :)

I dont have many pictures, everyone else has em on their cameras so hopefully ill have more soon! but it was SO much fun. the games were so awesome haha id never heard of some of them, and they were so much fun! even the embarrassing ones ;)
We got tons of stuff we NEEDED, joey and i both were so excited going through all of it last night. i guess now i gotta actually cook huh? ;)
my mom and MOH are throwing me another shower--HOW LUCKY am i!? now that i know how that whole thing goes im stoked about the next one! :)
Thursday i have an appt with bridesmaids to go look at dresses for them, and i gotta lose about 5 Ibs before february so wedding planning is rolling along!

today was busy at work....and then!? i went and got my NEW CAR! well new to me ha, its used ;) a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport!


i am so excited, and absolutley love it! i also have a buyer for my car...itll be sad to see the stang go! ive had it since i was 15! bitter sweet. i LOVE my explorer though! we went and got a new steering wheel cover and windshield wipers tonight and im good to go! oh and of course i got a rose scented air freshener ;) tomorrow im going back to the dealership so they can detail it for me! it was SUCH a great find. awesome price, low mileage,and in great condition!!

this week we both have work, i have RCIA as always and Saturday is Vickys bday! so we're going to dinner and then to see NEW MOON! how stoked am i.....RIDICULOUSLY stoked! :) !!!

sick = no fun!

Well its been a minute, my apologies for not keeping up with the blog--i used to be so good about it!

not much new going on with hubs and i. he's now working for my company as a salesman and is actually enjoying it :) so he's working and going to school which is keeping him pretty busy! im still working,and enjoying it as always-- ive been sick this week though. i completley lost my voice over the weekend, left early from work monday, didnt come in at all tuesday, and now im back! i feel better but still not 100%--hubs did a great job taking care of me though :)

he leaves for drill this weekend, he'll be gone from Friday morning to Sunday night, definitley stinks! I dont have many plans this weekend but Ill have to find something to do to keep busy, Sunday is my first wedding shower! i am SO excited!! and so grateful that my friends and family still want todo that for me even though we're already married, im glad i didnt miss out on all the fun stuff! definitley looking forward to that!

Speaking of Joey--its Veterans Day! Happy Veterans Day everyone! I am so proud of my husband, in so many ways. 2x Iraqi War Veteran, 4 years active, 2 Reserve currently--he is an amazing guy :) I hope everyone takes the time today to remember what Veterans Day is for--and to thank all the vets :)

Joey and I are both working on selling our cars, he has a buyer for his but I havent really had any bites on mine...big bummer :( we both just need bigger cars. ive been wanting to get an SUV for a while. absolutley nothing wrong with my car--its in incredible condition, and i feel like the price (6500) is a steal of a deal! but maybe no one has the money for that right now. we shall see i suppose!

tonight hubs and i are going out for dinner to celebrate Veterans Day :) than I have RCIA!
